Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Whatoblock.com, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this service.

Description of Service

Whatoblock.com is a cybersecurity intelligence platform that provides four main products and services:

  • Scanners: Network scanning activity data, including UDP and TCP scanning attempts. Helps identify port scans, TCP/UDP activity, and bot traffic for reconnaissance detection and network security.
  • Heartbeat: IP geolocation and threat intelligence data, categorizing IP addresses by threat type (OpenProxy, Tor Exit Node, Scanner, C2), location, and network characteristics. Helps with threat detection.
  • Botnets: Command & Control (C2) server intelligence and downloadable malware samples for security research. Helps identify C2 IPs, block infrastructure, track botnet families, and analyze malware payloads.
  • Open Data: Raw scanner result files providing access to survey data from various services and protocols. Helps with raw data access, custom research, and building custom feeds.

All products are accessible through our web interface and RESTful API. The API provides flexible filtering, real-time data retrieval, and direct file downloads for integration into your security workflows.

User Accounts

Account Creation

To access certain features, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information.

Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Using strong passwords and enabling two-factor authentication

Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms.

Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the service to:

  • Illegal Activities: Conduct any illegal or unauthorized activities
  • Security Violations: Attempt to breach or compromise our security or any other system
  • Spam and Abuse: Send spam, malware, or engage in abusive behavior
  • Data Mining: Scrape or extract data without permission or bypass API rate limits
  • Interference: Interfere with the service or other users
  • False Information: Provide false or misleading information
  • Unauthorized Access: Attempt to access network data or systems without authorization
  • API Abuse: Abuse the API by making excessive requests, attempting to bypass token consumption, or using invalid API keys
  • Data Misuse: Use collected data for purposes other than cybersecurity and threat intelligence. Our threat intelligence data is provided for security research and network protection purposes
  • Malware Sample Misuse: Use downloadable malware samples from the Botnet API for malicious purposes or distribute them without proper security controls

Intellectual Property

Our Rights

All content, features, and functionality on Whatoblock.com are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Use our trademarks or branding without authorization

Privacy and Data Protection

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service due to:

  • Maintenance and updates

Service Terms and Dispute Resolution

We want to be transparent about how our service works and what you can expect:

  • Service Quality: We provide our cybersecurity intelligence platform as-is, and while we work hard to maintain high quality, we can't guarantee perfect service at all times. Since we make threat intelligence data public to help protect the community, malicious actors frequently target our platform with attacks
  • Product Access: All four products (Scanners, Heartbeat, Botnets, Open Data) are available through our web interface and RESTful API v3.
  • Token System: When you use tokens for our services, they're consumed immediately and cannot be refunded - this helps us maintain fair usage across all users. Token costs vary by product and operation type (e.g., Heartbeat API: 0.1-1.0 tokens per record based on category, Botnet API: 1 token per IP, Scanner API: 1 token per IP, Open Data API: 10 tokens per file, Botnet download: 5 tokens per sample)
  • Payment Policy: All token package purchases are final, which helps us keep our services affordable and sustainable
  • API Usage: API endpoints support filtering, cost preview mode (using cost=true parameter), and direct file downloads. All API requests consume tokens based on the operation type and data returned
  • Service Reliability: We aim for excellent uptime, but like all online services, occasional interruptions may occur due to maintenance or technical issues
  • Data Quality: We put significant effort into providing accurate threat intelligence, but cybersecurity data can be complex and may occasionally contain inaccuracies, particularly in location details
  • Understanding: We appreciate your understanding that, as with any digital service, we cannot be held responsible for indirect issues that may arise from using our platform

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
